NOVASAM RESEARCH AND CONSULTANCY CLARIFICATION TEXT ON PROCESSING AND PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA
NOVASAM Research gathers, processes and stores the personal data it collects during its research activities in social, economic, political and sectoral fields in accordance with the “Personal Data Protection Law” No. 6698 (“PDPL”) and the principles and obligations stipulated in other laws.
METHOD AND LEGAL BASIS FOR COLLECTION OF PERSONAL DATA
NOVASAM collects personal data in accordance with the law and principles of fairness within the scope of its research activities. It collects the data for specific, clear, and legitimate purposes, and retains them for a duration that is limited and proportional to these purposes, as required by the legislation.
Depending on the nature of the research, data is collected based on explicit consent by automatic, partially automatic or non-automatic methods. Personal data can be processed without requiring explicit consent in the following cases, as stated in the 2nd paragraph of Article 5 of PDPL and can only be shared with official institutions authorized by law.
a) It is clearly prescribed by law.
ç) It is mandatory for the data controller to fulfil its legal obligation.
d) It has been made public by the person concerned.
e) Data processing is mandatory for the establishment, exercise or protection of a right.
f) It is necessary to process data for the legitimate interests of the data controller, provided that it does not harm the fundamental rights and freedoms of the person concerned.
PURPOSES OF PROCESSING PERSONAL DATA
NOVASAM may collect and process personal data in relation to its purpose, including but not limited to the following:

Conducting research in the fields of activity such as social, economic, political research and market research

Finding participants for qualitative and quantitative research

Conducting surveys, in-depth interviews, focus groups

Confirming the accuracy of the data collected

Responding to questions and requests

THIRD PARTIES TO WHICH PERSONAL DATA CAN BE TRANSFERRED
Personal data is not shared with any third party except business partners with whom NOVASAM has signed a confidentiality agreement.
Special personal data (data regarding people's race, ethnic origin, political opinion, philosophical belief, religion, religious sect or other beliefs, appearance and clothing, association, foundation or trade-union membership, health, sexual life, criminal conviction and security measures) is not shared with any third party, including business partners, and is used anonymously in the statistics, analysis and reports produced.
NOVASAM may share data with official institutions authorized by law only in cases where it is necessary to fulfil its legal obligations.
YOUR RIGHTS REGARDING YOUR PERSONAL DATA
The rights of individuals regarding their personal data are defined as follows in Article 11 of PDPL.
a) Learning whether personal data is processed or not,
b) Requesting information if personal data has been processed,
c) Learning the purpose of processing personal data and whether they are used for their intended purpose,
ç) Knowing the third parties to whom personal data is transferred domestically or abroad,
d) Requesting correction of personal data if they are incompletely or incorrectly processed,
e) Requesting the deletion of personal data under the conditions referred to in Article 7,
f) To request that the transactions carried out in accordance with sub-paragraphs (d) and (e) be notified to third parties to whom personal data is transferred,
g) Objecting to the emergence of a result against the person by analysing the processed data exclusively through automatic systems,
ğ) Requesting compensation for the damage arising from the unlawful processing of personal data.
Within the framework of these rights, your requests to NOVASAM will be finalized free of charge within 30 days at the latest, in the manner and method specified in the law. However, if the transaction requires an additional cost, only the fee in the tariff determined by the Board will be charged.
